DC Benazirabad chairs meeting regarding health-related matters

NAWABSHAH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad, Abdul Samad Nizamani, chaired a meeting with the owners of private medical centers regarding health-related matters Monday.

Meeting reviewed in detail the performance of public and private healthcare institutions across the district, registration and licensing issues, procedures of blood banks, availability and quality of medicines, and strict implementation of rules and regulations in the health sector.

On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner directed that all private medical centers, laboratories, and blood banks must ensure their registration with Sindh Healthcare Commission and other relevant authorities, and fulfill all legal requirements.

DC also strictly instructed officers of Sindh Healthcare Commission to further accelerate ongoing actions against quack doctors, illegal laboratories and medical centers.

He made it clear that indiscriminate action would be taken against unregistered and substandard healthcare facilities. Meeting also emphasized establishing an effective blood screening system, ensuring safe blood transfusion, providing quality facilities to thalassemia patients, and preventing sale of substandard or expired medicines.

Deputy Commissioner directed Drug Inspector to conduct regular inspections of medical stores and initiate legal action against violators.

He said that providing quality and safe healthcare facilities to public is top priority of the district administration, and no negligence in this regard will be tolerated. He directed all concerned officers to perform their duties with honesty and professionalism and to submit regular performance reports.

Deputy Commissioner further said that the healthcare system in Shaheed Benazirabad district will be made more effective, transparent, and public-friendly to ensure better medical facilities for citizens. The meeting was attended by District Health Officer Dr Mudassir Hussain, Medical Superintendent PMC Hospital Dr Yar Ali Jamali, District Manager PPHI Zakir Hussain Samo, Assistant Commissioner Iqbal Ahmed Tunio, Deputy Director Sindh Healthcare Commission Mansoor Ali, Dr Muhammad Sadiq Siyal of Thalassemia Patients Welfare Society, Ghulam Nabi Channa, Deputy Director Health Dr Ashfaq Mashori, administrators of various blood banks, owners of private medical centers, and representatives of Union of Medical Stores.
