Dacoit held after police shootout

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Mar, 2026) Jaranwala Saddar police arrested a dacoit who was injured in a shootout here on Thursday.

According to police spokesman, Incharge Alipur Bungalow police post Shahjahan had arrested the accused and was carrying him for recovery of looted booty when some accomplices of the accused attacked the police party near Chak No 54-GB and succeeded to release him.

The police team however chased the outlaws and rearrested the accused in injured condition after a shootout.

The accused was a record holder and wanted in more than 25 cases.
