Dacoit arrested in injured condition during police encounter

ARIFWALA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Feb, 2026) A suspected robber was arrested in an injured condition during encounter with police within the jurisdiction of Qaboola police station, the police said on Wednesday.

According to officials sources, the incident took place in village suburban 28/KB, where police exchanged fire with a gang of dacoits.

During the shootout, a suspect — identified as Irfan alias Fani was injured, they added.

The Police the suspect and recovered weapons from his possession.

Station House Officer (SHO), Abid Ashiq Mahar told media persons that police had received a call on the emergency helpline reporting the presence of suspicious individuals in the area. Upon arrival, the police team were met with gunfire from the suspects, prompting an exchange of fire.

A case had been registered against the accused and further investigation was under way, they added.
