RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has initiated a strict enforcement campaign against vehicles operating without fitness certificates, those fitted with illegal CNG cylinders, and those involved in passenger overloading.

According to a CTP spokesperson, the move aims to safeguard human life, prevent road accidents, and ensure safer travel across the district.

Authorities have warned that vehicles posing risks to public safety due to mechanical unfitness or illegal modifications will now face firm legal action.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam stated that the decision was taken to protect citizens’ lives and property, reduce road accidents, and improve transport conditions in Rawalpindi.

He emphasized that ensuring compliance with traffic and safety regulations is essential for maintaining a secure road environment.

He also urged vehicle owners and drivers to obtain timely fitness certification, avoid installing unauthorized CNG cylinders, and refrain from overloading passengers to prevent legal consequences and contribute to overall road safety.
