CTP devises Eid-ul-Azha cattle market traffic plan

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th May, 2026) City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has issued a comprehensive traffic plan for Eid-ul-Azha cattle markets established across the district to ensure smooth traffic flow and convenience for citizens.

According to a CTP spokesperson, a total of eight cattle markets have been set up in Rawalpindi district, including two within the city and six in various tehsils.

To maintain traffic flow and manage congestion around the markets, more than 81 traffic personnel have been deployed. Four lifters have also been assigned to remove illegally parked vehicles and ensure the uninterrupted movement of traffic.

In Rawalpindi city, cattle markets have been established at Bhata Chowk and Mouza Raniyal.

In Gujar Khan, markets have been set up on Gulyana Road near the slaughterhouse and at Rawat Police Station.

In Taxila, cattle markets are operational at HIT Timber Market and near Sharif Hospital on GT Road.

Additional cattle markets have been established at Bypass Chowk in Kallar Syedan and on Sakhi Sabzwari Tangi Road in Kahuta.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam said that citizens would not face difficulties in accessing cattle markets. He further stated that parking of vehicles on main roads would not be allowed under any circumstances.

The CTO added that public awareness regarding parking and traffic arrangements is being conveyed through public address systems, while additional traffic personnel will be deployed if crowds increase at the markets.

He urged citizens to cooperate with traffic police during Eid shopping activities to ensure smooth traffic flow across the city.
