RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Farhan Aslam on Wednesday suspended a traffic assistant and ordered an inquiry after a video circulated on social media showing the official misbehaving with a citizen, a spokesman for the City Traffic Police said.

According to the spokesman, the incident occurred in the Jhanda Chichi area of the Civil Lines sector. The traffic assistant had stopped a motorcyclist for violating helmet regulations and, for issuance of a challan ticket, demanded the required documents, which the latter failed to produce.

As seen in the video, an altercation took place between the two, during which the traffic assistant was seen pushing the citizen, the spokesman added.

CTO Farhan Aslam took immediate notice of the incident and suspended the official pending a departmental inquiry.

“Implementation of the law is mandatory, but such behaviour is unacceptable,” the CTO said, adding that there would be zero tolerance for discourteous conduct towards citizens.

He said strict departmental action would be taken against the traffic assistant found guilty, reiterating that professionalism and respect were essential in public dealings.
