CTO Sarfraz Virk orders strict enforcement of traffic laws in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Muhammad Sarfraz Virk chaired an important meeting and directed officers to ensure strict implementation of traffic laws and improve traffic flow on major roads of the Federal capital.

An official told APP on Tuesday that the CTO Virk issued instructions for deployment of additional personnel during rush hours to ensure smooth traffic movement and reduce congestion on important highways and intersections.

Virk also directed officers to continue indiscriminate action against traffic violators and ensure effective arrangements for facilitation of citizens.

During the meeting, different matters related to traffic management, enforcement measures and public convenience were reviewed in detail.

The CTO emphasized that all available resources should be utilized to maintain traffic discipline and provide maximum relief to road users.
