CTO orders smooth traffic after Kahna roof collapse

Lahore Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi on Tuesday visited a hospital following the tragic roof collapse incident in Kahna, where he inquired after the injured children and expressed heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the affected families

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Jun, 2026) Lahore Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi on Tuesday visited a hospital following the tragic roof collapse incident in Kahna, where he inquired after the injured children and expressed heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the affected families.

According to a spokesperson, the CTO immediately directed the SP Saddar and DSP Model Town to ensure uninterrupted movement of Rescue 1122 ambulances and other emergency vehicles from the accident site to all concerned hospitals, stressing that no traffic obstruction should be allowed along the route.

He also instructed officers to make special traffic arrangements outside and within the emergency wards of both public and private hospitals to facilitate the swift transfer of the injured and ensure timely medical treatment.

On the directions of the CTO, additional traffic police personnel were deployed at the accident site, along Ferozepur Road, on major arteries and around the concerned hospitals. Traffic officers remained in close coordination with rescue agencies to effectively monitor and regulate traffic flow.

Shirazi said the Traffic Police were extending full cooperation to all relevant departments to ensure that rescue and relief operations continued swiftly, safely and efficiently. He also appealed to citizens to immediately give way to ambulances and other emergency vehicles to help save precious lives.
