CTO orders cold water, sweet beverages distribution amid scorching heat

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi, Farhan Aslam has taken a commendable initiative in response to the ongoing intense weather conditions by directing the provision of cold water and refreshments for traffic wardens and citizens.

Acting on the CTO’s instructions, sector in-charges have started distributing chilled water and sweet beverages to traffic personnel performing duties in the field, as well as to road users at various traffic points across the city.

Speaking on the occasion, CTO Farhan Aslam said that while ordinary citizens cannot stand in the scorching heat for even eight minutes, traffic wardens continue to perform their duties for up to eight hours with dedication and commitment to ensure the safe movement of citizens to their destinations.

He further stated that every police officer and traffic warden is equally valuable to him, as they remain present at roads and intersections day and night, regardless of weather conditions, to serve the public and maintain smooth traffic flow. He added that all available resources are being utilized for the welfare and well-being of traffic staff.

The CTO also advised all traffic personnel to use umbrellas during duty hours to protect themselves from extreme heat and to take special care of their health.
