CTO Lahore reviews crackdown on traffic violations at city entry points

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Jun, 2026) Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Abdul Rahim Shirazi visited entry and exit checkpoints across the city late at night to review the ongoing crackdown on heavy traffic violations.

During a visit to the Gajjumata checkpoint, the CTO inspected vehicle checking procedures and enforcement of traffic regulations.

According to traffic police, commercial vehicles lacking valid driving licenses, fitness certificates, or proper lighting systems are being barred from entering the city.

CTO Shirazi said only commercial vehicles with complete legal documents will be allowed entry, warning that strict action will be taken against vehicles using high-beam lights or operating with defective or missing backlights.

He directed divisional and circle officers to personally supervise checkpoint operations and ensure strict enforcement of traffic laws, adding that no leniency will be shown to traffic violators.
