CTO Lahore forms committees to address transporters' issues

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Jun, 2026) Lahore Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi held a meeting with a delegation of the Mini Mazda Association to discuss issues being faced by transporters and explore possible solutions.

The delegation, led by Haji Sher Ali, apprised the CTO of various concerns and challenges faced by Mini Mazda operators in the city.

During the meeting, the CTO constituted committees comprising transporters and DSPs to address traffic-related issues and ensure effective coordination between stakeholders.

He also directed circle officers to hold monthly meetings with transporters to identify problems and develop solutions through mutual consultation.

Shirazi said the committees would formulate a comprehensive strategy to resolve traffic issues through coordination and dialogue. He advised transporters to immediately contact the designated focal person at the CTO Office in case of any allegedly unjustified traffic challans.

To improve compliance with traffic regulations, the meeting also decided to organize special refresher courses for Mazda drivers to enhance their awareness of traffic laws and road safety measures.

The CTO emphasized that violations of prescribed load limits and designated operating hours on specified roads would not be tolerated.

Abdul Raheem Shirazi said transporters were the backbone of the national economy and stressed that their issues could be effectively resolved through mutual consultation and cooperation.

Speaking on the occasion, Haji Sher Ali assured that the Mini Mazda Association would discourage illegal practices and fully cooperate with traffic authorities in maintaining discipline on the roads.
