CS KP appreciates PRCS humanitarian services in merged districts

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Apr, 2026) Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah has appreciated the humanitarian services of Pakistan Red Crescent Society (Merged Districts), in expanding relief and development initiatives across the tribal districts.

In an official letter of appreciation, the Chief Secretary commended Chairman Imran Wazir Wazir’s outstanding services, particularly during the recent sectarian situation in Parachinar, as well as his support for affectees in Bajaur and facilitation of temporary displaced persons (TDPs) from Khyber.

Under the leadership of Imran Wazir, the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) has emerged as a key humanitarian organization in the merged districts, setting a strong example of service delivery in areas long affected by insecurity, poverty, and lack of basic facilities.

The Chief Secretary also appreciated PRCS contributions in delivering essential healthcare services to remote and underserved areas, terming them crucial in addressing humanitarian challenges.

The letter concluded by placing on record the government’s appreciation for his professionalism, commitment, and humanitarian services, while expressing best wishes for his continued success in future endeavors.

Through effective planning and international collaboration, PRCS has implemented a wide range of projects in partnership with organizations such as the International Committee of the Red Cross, International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and the Norwegian Red Cross.

These initiatives have focused on healthcare, food distribution, water and sanitation, and psychosocial support, benefiting hundreds of thousands of people in Bajaur, Kurram, Waziristan, Landi Kotal, Tirah, and Bannu subdivision. Emergency health services for Afghan refugees are also being effectively provided.

In addition, the establishment of permanent offices in various districts and enhanced coordination with government institutions have further strengthened the organization’s operational capacity.

Under Wazir’s leadership, PRCS has not only provided immediate relief but has also promoted sustainable development, rehabilitation, and hope among affected communities.
