Crackdown on vehicles defaulting on e-challans

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jul, 2026) Lahore Traffic Police have intensified action against vehicles that have not paid e-challans

for violating traffic rules and impounded a commercial pickup with a pending e-challan worth

Rs 60,000 in Green Town area.

Traffic Inspector Zaheer Abbas said on Sunday that during the operation, the e-challan record

of pickup vehicle was checked and it was found that a fine of Rs 60,000 was overdue on the

vehicle. The vehicle had violated the signal four times, for which a fine of Rs 15,000 was fixed

for each violation.

He said the commercial pickup vehicle had been impounded at the relevant police station

for legal action for non-payment of the fine.

The process of e-challaning was underway through Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR)

cameras for more than 20 violations of traffic rules across the city, while actions against defaulting

vehicles were being further accelerated.

Chief Traffic Officer Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi has appealed to citizens to follow traffic rules

and be responsible while traveling to avoid e-challans.
