Crackdown on profiteers in Havelian bazaar, heavy fines imposed

HAVELIAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Mar, 2026) Tehsildar Havelian Asghar Khan carried out a surprise and detailed inspection of Havelian Bazaar along with his team to ensure implementation of official price lists and quality standards.

During the inspection, dozens of shops were checked, with officials reviewing the quality, quantity, and adherence to government-notified prices of essential food items. Several shopkeepers were found violating the prescribed rates, prompting immediate action. Heavy fines were imposed on the violators.

Speaking to media representatives and traders, Tehsildar Asghar Khan warned that stricter legal measures, including possible arrests, would be taken against repeat offenders.

He emphasized that the holy month of Ramadan is a time of blessings and that profiteering during this period not only violates the law but also burdens fasting citizens.

He reiterated that the district administration, under the leadership of the Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad, would continue indiscriminate action against profiteers and ensure that the public is not exploited.

The district administration has urged traders to strictly follow official price lists and contribute to providing relief to consumers during Ramadan.
