Crackdown on Profiteers in Attock: Rs 50,000 Fine Imposed During Market Inspection

ATTOCK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Feb, 2026) Attock authorities crackdown on Wednesday against profiteering is underway in Attock under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Rao Atif Raza.

During the ongoing campaign, Assistant Commissioner Attock Muhammad Arif Qureshi conducted inspections in various areas including Civil Bazaar, Mochi Bazaar, Mansab Chowk, and Hammam Road, these were on the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

During the operation, action was taken against encroachments as well as vendors selling small and large meat, vegetables, and fruits at inflated prices. A total fine of Rs 50,000 was imposed on violators.

The Assistant Commissioner issued a stern warning to profiteers, stating that strict legal action will be taken against those involved in overcharging for essential food items. He emphasized that, in addition to heavy fines, offenders may also face FIR registration and imprisonment.
