Crackdown on overpricing in Abbottabad, fines imposed, two shops sealed

ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Apr, 2026) In line with the provincial government’s good governance roadmap and efforts to address public complaints, authorities have intensified price control measures across the district.

Assistant Commissioner Havelian, Sameera Mehsud, conducted a detailed inspection of College Road Mandian and Phool Gulab Road in Abbottabad. During the visit, general stores, fruit and vegetable shops, and poultry outlets were checked. Officials reviewed the availability of official price lists and compliance with government-notified rates.

During the operation, several shopkeepers were fined heavily for overcharging and violating price list regulations. An FIR was registered against a fruit shop, initiating legal proceedings, while two poultry shops were sealed for charging excessive prices and failing to display official rate lists.

The Assistant Commissioner-II stated that indiscriminate action against profiteers will continue, and strict enforcement of price control measures will be ensured to provide relief to the public.
