ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th May, 2026) The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has launched operations across the city against unauthorized advertisements related to sacrificial animals, removing several billboards and flex banners from highways and green belts.

Officials said action was taken to clear public spaces and enforce rules on outdoor advertising campaigns.

During the operation, flex banners installed near the PWD Interchange were removed, while four billboards placed on the green belt along Lehtrar Road were also taken down. The campaign targeted advertisements displayed without official approval, including banners, wall chalking and promotional material placed in public areas.

According to the administration, no individual or business may run an advertising campaign in the city without prior permission.

Officials said advertisements on highways, green belts and other public locations are being monitored to prevent illegal displays linked to the upcoming sacrificial season.

The administration warned that strict action could be taken against both advertising agencies and the businesses involved if violations continue. Officials added that wall chalking and unauthorized publicity campaigns are not permitted under city regulations and legal action may follow in cases of non-compliance.

Authorities said the operation would continue in different parts of the city to ensure public spaces remain clear of illegal advertisements and to maintain traffic visibility along major roads.
