MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Feb, 2026) Commissioner Aamir Karim Khan chaired a detailed meeting to formulate and review policy measures against illegal petrol pumps, unlawful decanting, unauthorized fuel agencies, and unregulated LPG containers across Multan Division.
The meeting reviewed FIRs registered against illegal petrol agencies and assessed the progress of ongoing enforcement actions. Deputy Commissioners (DCs), Assistant Director, Civil Defence Officer, DC Customs, and Assistant Executive Director of Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) attended the session.
Commissioner Aamir Karim Khan directed OGRA to conduct inspections of large hotels, warehouses, and other walled or suspicious premises. He also declared color-coding of registered fuel bowsers mandatory to improve monitoring and traceability.
The Commissioner instructed DCs to identify unapproved petrol pumps and forward formal references for strict legal action. He emphasized zero tolerance for illegal fuel outlets and ordered that machines installed at unauthorized pumps be dismantled and brought within the legal framework.
In a stern directive, he ordered that confiscated decanting equipment be bulldozed before Eid, with media representatives present to ensure transparency.
He further directed that visible enforcement actions be carried out in every tehsil against illegal petrol pumps.
Civil Defence, Assistant Commissioners, and price Control Magistrates were instructed to conduct regular checks against illegal decanting practices and verify fuel measurement standards. Law enforcement agencies and Civil Defence officials were also tasked with screening and monitoring LPG plants.
The Secretary RTO was directed to impose strict fines on vehicles operating on LPG without proper certification. A zero-tolerance policy was ordered against vehicles using prohibited LPG cylinders.
On the directives of the Government of Punjab, all petrol pumps were instructed to ensure clean public washrooms and prominent signage for customers.
Officials briefed the meeting that operations against illegal decanting are ongoing across all districts of the division, with shops being sealed and arrests made. A separate briefing was also given on the crackdown against smuggled oil and the monitoring of designated parking points for fuel bowsers.
The Commissioner reiterated that public safety, transparency, and strict enforcement of fuel regulations would remain the administration’s top priority.
