Crackdown on criminals to be intensified, says DPO Dera

Dera Ismail Khan, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Apr, 2026) District Police Officer (DPO) Dera Ismail Khan, Zia-ud-Din Ahmed, chaired a crime meeting with officers of the City Division to review law and order and policing performance, officials said on Wednesday.

The meeting was attended by SP City Division Muhammad Nauman, circle DSPs and SHOs of all police stations in the division. During the session, the performance of police stations, registered cases (FIRs), and the overall crime situation were reviewed in detail.

Officials briefed the meeting on cases registered in their respective jurisdictions, ongoing investigations, and progress made so far. The DPO directed officers to ensure early disposal of pending cases strictly on merit, emphasizing transparency, professionalism, and adherence to legal procedures in the investigation process.

He further instructed that operations against criminal elements be intensified without discrimination, and a crackdown against proclaimed offenders and habitual criminals be ensured.

The DPO stressed the use of modern policing techniques, intelligence-based operations, and effective monitoring systems to curb crime and maintain law and order.

He also highlighted the importance of prompt resolution of public complaints, improvement in police station culture, and courteous behavior with complainants, adding that restoring public trust and ensuring timely justice remained the top priority of the police.
