Crackdown on beggars, 310 detained in two days

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Feb, 2026) The police launched a full-scale crackdown against elements involved in disrupting traffic flow

and professional begging.

According to police sources, special operations were carried out in different areas, important highways, markets and intersections, and 310 professional beggars have been detained so far during the operations in the last 48 hours.

The beggars were involved in harassing citizens and affecting traffic flow at traffic signals, commercial centers and public places. Cases have been registered against the arrested persons under the rules, further investigation and legal action is underway.
