Crackdown on adulterated milk; Rs133,000 fines imposed in DI Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Feb, 2026) The district administration’s inspection team on milk adulteration carried out an overnight operation, inspecting 36,000 litres of milk transported from Punjab to various cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and imposing fines worth Rs133,000 over quality violations.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Dera Ismail Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, in coordination with officials from the Halal food Authority and the Livestock Department.

During the action, eight milk tankers were checked and laboratory testing found that seven samples did not meet the prescribed standards due to nutritional imbalance and quality deficiencies.

Following the violations, the assistant commissioner and the assistant director of the Halal Food Authority imposed cumulative fines of Rs133,000 and issued strict warnings to those responsible.

The district administration reiterated that milk adulteration and substandard quality will not be tolerated and that inspections will continue under a zero-tolerance policy to protect public health.
