Crackdown launched against smoke-emitting, noisy rickshaws in city

MUZAFFARGARH, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Feb, 2026) The traffic police launched a decisive crackdown on rickshaws contributing to environmental and noise pollution, the police spokesman said on Monday.

On the special directions of District Police Officer (DPO) Syed Ghazanfar Ali Shah, District Traffic Police Officer Muhammad Abu Bakar initiated strict action against rickshaws fitted with modified or faulty silencers and caused excessive smoke and noise.

According to a police spokesperson, Abu Bakar the operation had formally begun under the instructions of the DPO, emphasising that no individual would be allowed to disturb the peaceful environment of the city.
