Crackdown intensified on transporters overcharging passengers in Dera, Tank

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Apr, 2026) The Regional Transport Authority (RTA) has intensified its crackdown against transporters who are allegedly overcharging passengers in Dera Ismail Khan and Tank districts.

According to the administration, in this regard, monitoring teams carried out inspections at various bus stands and on different passenger routes, taking action against transporters involved in overcharging.

During the operations, passengers were refunded the extra fares on the spot from drivers and transporters found guilty of overcharging, while fines were also imposed on the violating vehicles.

The RTA has also ensured that updated official fare lists are displayed on all passenger vehicles so that commuters are aware of the approved fares and overcharging can be effectively prevented.

It has warned that charging fares above the approved rates was a punishable offense, adding that strict and indiscriminate action would continue against those involved.

He also urged the people not to pay more than the prescribed fare and to immediately report any complaints to the relevant authorities.
