DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Mar, 2026) The district administration arrested four retailers during a crackdown against illegal deductions from beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) and the Ramazan relief package.
The action was carried out by Assistant Commissioner Syed Muhammad Arslan on the directives of Deputy Commissioner after complaints that some retailers were charging extra money from beneficiaries.
Two retailers were arrested from Qureshi Mor, one from Yousaf Gilani Town near Ammar Mosque, and another from Topan Wala Chowk.
One accused was reportedly operating the illegal activity from his residence.
Officials sealed the shops and confiscated digital devices used in the transactions, which will also be blocked through the company. The accused were handed over to the concerned police stations for registration of cases.
Authorities warned retailers against making illegal deductions and urged citizens to report such complaints with evidence for strict legal action.
