KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Feb, 2026) The Karachi administration's crackdown against overpricing continued on the third day of the holy month of Ramazan, with fines exceeding Rs 26 lakh 27 thousand imposed on shopkeepers for violating official prices.

According to Deputy Commissioners' reports, officials checked prices at 768 locations and issued warnings at 129 places.

On the directives of Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi, Assistant Commissioners auctioned fruits and other items at official rates.

Auctions were held for wheat flour, sugar, chicken, vegetables, beef, bananas, guavas, oranges, watermelon, and strawberries.

On the directives of Commissioner, all Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, and monitoring teams remained in the field. The monitoring teams visited the markets, Commissioner counters at superstores and complaint centers.
