DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Mar, 2026) The district administration has intensified its crackdown against adulterated milk, inspecting 47000 liters of milk in tanker trucks throughout the night.
According to the administration, the operation was conducted under the directives of the provincial government and led by Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Iftikhar Ahmed.
During the operation, a special team comprising officials from the Halal food Authority and the Livestock Department inspected tanker trucks supplying milk from Punjab to various cities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The tankers were supplying milk to Dera Ismail Khan, Bannu, Peshawar, and other districts.
According to the district administration, a total of seven milk tankers were inspected and around 47,000 liters of milk were checked.
The team collected 21 samples from different tankers and conducted 105 chemical tests on them.
During the inspection, one sample was found to contain water adulteration, upon which the tanker owner was fined Rs. 20,000 on the spot.
However, no chemical adulteration was detected in any of the other samples.
The district administration has said that operations against milk adulteration will continue under strict monitoring and that no compromise will be made on citizens' health.
