CPO orders zero tolerance for lapses during Chehlum security

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jul, 2026) City Police Officer (CPO) Tanveer Hussain reviewed security arrangements for Chehlum during his visit to the Central Imambargah Jafaria Trust and directed the police officers to enforce foolproof security for all mourning processions and religious gatherings as no negligence in duty would be tolerated at any cost.

SP Lyallpur Division Abid Zafar and other senior police officers were also present on the occasion.

During the visit, the SP briefed the CPO about the routes of Chehlum processions, deployment plans, and overall security strategy devised for the district.

The CPO also met Syed Jafar Hussain Naqvi, administrator of the Central Imambargah Jafaria Trust, and assured him that comprehensive security arrangements would be put in place to ensure peaceful observance of Chehlum.

He directed police officers to make exceptionally stringent security arrangements along the routes of all mourning processions and at venues of religious gatherings.

He said that every possible measure would be taken to safeguard mourners and maintain law & order throughout the observance.

He further directed that all procession routes and venues of majalis should remain under continuous surveillance through CCTV cameras to ensure effective monitoring and prompt response to any untoward incident.

He said that a comprehensive strategy had also been devised for traffic management and emergency response to facilitate mourners and minimize inconvenience to the public during the movement of processions.

Any negligence or dereliction of duty in connection with Chehlum security would not be tolerated under any circumstances, he added.
