CPO chairs peace committee meeting

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jul, 2026) City Police Officer (CPO) Tanveer Hussain chaired a meeting with members of the peace committee, religious scholars and traders to finalize a comprehensive security plan for Ashura Chehlum and said that the police were committed to ensure peaceful observance of the occasion through coordinated security, traffic and emergency response arrangements.

According to police spokesperson Tariq Jutt, the meeting was held at the Police Lines Complex where prominent peace committee members and religious leaders including Sahibzada Faiz Rasool, Syed Jafar Hussain Naqvi, Maulana Sikandar Hayat Zaki, Maulana Khubaib, traders' representative Muhammad Amin Butt and other scholars were also present.

Addressing the meeting, the CPO said the police would ensure close coordination with representatives of all schools of thought to preserve communal harmony and guarantee peaceful conduct of Chehlum observances.

He emphasized that strict compliance with the code of conduct and enforcement of law would be ensured without discrimination.
