RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Mar, 2026) A local court on Thursday has sentenced a drug supplier to nine years in prison and imposed a fine of Rs. 80,000.0 after finding him guilty in a narcotics case registered by R.A. Bazaar Police.
The convict, Muhammad Ali, was arrested in October 2024 after police recovered 2 kilogrammes of charas from his possession during an operation within the limits of R.A. Bazaar Police Station.
According to the police spokesman, the court awarded the sentence after the prosecution produced substantial evidence and pursued the case effectively.
City Police Officer Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani appreciated the performance of the SSP Investigation, as well as the investigation and legal teams, for ensuring effective prosecution of the case, the spokesman added.
He reiterated that all-out efforts were being made to eradicate the menace of drugs from society.
