Court extends physical remand of accused in Businessman's murder case

The Anti-Terrorism Court on Monday extended the physical remand of the accused arrested in the murder case of businessman Aamir Awan for another four days

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th May, 2026) The Anti-Terrorism Court on Monday extended the physical remand of the accused arrested in the murder case of businessman Aamir Awan for another four days.

Justice Abual Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain heard the case. During the proceedings, the police produced the accused before the court upon the completion of the previous remand and requested further remand for investigation.

Prosecutor Naveed Hussain Kayani informed the court that the accused had previously been sent on physical remand and had also undergone polygraph tests.

He stated that further investigation was required from the suspects and requested a 14 day physical remand for each of the five accused.

The prosecution had requested physical remand for all five accused to continue the probe. After hearing the arguments, the court granted a four-day physical remand and handed over the accused to the police. The judge directed the investigating officer to produce the accused again upon the completion of this remand period.

The case of businessman Aamir Awan's murder was registered at Shehzad Town Police Station in Islamabad. Further investigation was underway.
