Court awards death sentence to man in child sexual assault case

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Mar, 2026) A court has awarded the death sentence to a man for sexually assaulting a six-year-old child, while also imposing compensation and fine, here on Thursday.

The convict, M Akram, was sentenced to death and directed to pay Rs1.0 million as compensation to the victim, along with a fine of Rs500,000.0

The case was registered in May 2024 at Chaklala Police Station. Police had arrested the accused and submitted the challan after completing the investigation.

According to a police spokesman, the court handed down the sentence after the prosecution produced substantial evidence and pursued the case effectively.

City Police Officer Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani appreciated the performance of the SSP Investigation, as well as the investigation and legal teams, for ensuring effective prosecution that led to the conviction.

The CPO reiterated their commitment to taking strict action against crimes involving children and ensuring that offenders are brought to justice.
