Court awards death penalty to man for killing sister

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) Additional and Sessions Judge Muhammad Akhtar Bhatti on Wednesday awarded death sentence to an accused for murdering his sister in the name of honour within the jurisdiction of Jhal Chakian police station.

The court, while delivering the verdict in case number 1000/24, also imposed a fine of Rs 200,000 on the convict, identified as Muhammad Khan, after the prosecution successfully proved the charges under sections 302 and 311 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

According to a spokesperson for the Sargodha police, the conviction followed a rigorous investigation and effective pursuit of the case by the police team, reflecting Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's "Never Again" vision aimed at protecting women.
