Couple found dead in suspected 'Honour Killing' : Police

MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2026) A husband and wife were killed in a suspected honour killing in Basti Desi, a locality in the Ghari area , police said on Thursday.

According to police sources, the bodies were recovered from a field in Basti Desi, a locality in the Ghari area falling under the jurisdiction of Sitpur police station in Tehsil, Alipur.

They said the man, identified as Lal Hussain, had married the woman about a year ago against the wishes of her family.

The couple was allegedly attacked with knives by unidentified assailants and dumped their bodies in the field, the police said.

The bodies were taken into custody and shifted to a hospital for legal formalities, they added.

The police have registered a case and launched investigation.
