MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jul, 2026) Police on Sunday traced a blind robbery case involving millions of rupees and arrested six accused, including active police personnel, who had staged a fake checkpoint to pull off the heist.

According to police officials, the major breakthrough came following an intensive investigation led by the Special Branch, which exposed the involvement of Punjab Police and Jail Police personnel in the daylight robbery committed two months ago.

The incident occurred on May 9, when the accused set up a fake picket at Rakh Khanpur on the outskirts of Muzaffargarh, intercepted a truck driver, and looted 18 kilograms of silver worth Rs 17.5 million alongside hundreds of thousands of rupees in cash before fleeing the scene.

The case was successfully traced through a meticulous review of CCTV footage and tireless intelligence gathering by a Special Branch team led by District Officer DSP Zaki Rehan Langrial.

A case was registered against six individuals at the City Police Station last night immediately after their involvement came to light.

Law enforcement officials stated that further investigation was underway to establish the identities of the remaining accomplices.
