Control Room established for Muharram arrangements in Gujrat

GUJRAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jun, 2026) The district administration has established a control room to ensure round-the-clock monitoring of security arrangements, processions, and religious gatherings during Muharram-ul-Haram.

According to official sources, on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Gujrat Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi, the control room has been set up to oversee security and administrative measures throughout the month. CCTV cameras are being used for continuous surveillance of processions and sensitive locations.

Assistant Commissioner Human Resources Waqas Mehmood is supervising the control room, while officers and staff from the police, Rescue 1122, Civil Defence, and other relevant departments are deployed to ensure coordinated monitoring and response.

The district administration said the control room will remain operational 24 hours a day to facilitate coordination among departments regarding security, traffic management, emergency response, and public complaints during Muharram.

Citizens can contact the district control room at 0533-727487 for emergencies or information. In case of police emergencies, helpline 15 can be used, while Rescue 1122 is available for medical and rescue services.
