Comprehensive traffic plan evolved

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Mar, 2026) Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Nasir Javed Rana said that a comprehensive traffic management strategy for Chand Raat has been evolved to ensure safety of citizens and maintain smooth traffic flow across the city.

Speaking about the arrangements, he said that City Traffic Police had finalized an effective operational plan to control traffic congestion and prevent reckless driving while strict enforcement of traffic laws would be ensured and no one would be allowed to violate the law under any circumstances.

He said that Chand Raat traditionally witnesses an extraordinary influx of citizens in markets and commercial centers for last-minute Eid shopping, which significantly increases vehicular movement and traffic pressure on major roads.

In view of this situation, traffic police personnel would be deployed at important intersections, commercial areas and entry & exit points of the city to regulate traffic and assist motorists, he added.

He said that strict monitoring would be carried out to prevent dangerous activities such as one-wheeling, street racing and rash driving, which often pose serious risks to public safety during festive celebrations.
