Comprehensive traffic management plan finalized for markets during Ramazan

Ramazan.

In this regard, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of RTA Secretary Shaukat Iqbal, with DSP Traffic

Anwar Khan Khattak and representatives of major trader associations in attendance.

The plan, developed in consultation with trader bodies, aims to streamline traffic flow and facilitate smooth business activity in the city’s main commercial areas during Ramazan.

According to the approved strategy, the rickshaws will be allowed limited access in designated markets. In Commissionery Bazaar, they will be permitted up to Khatm-e-Nabuwat Masjid; from Tank Adda to Baloch Chowk; in Topanwala Bazaar up to Jogianwala Mohallah; and in Muslim Bazaar up to Maidan Hafiz Jamal. Strict legal action will be taken against violators.

Speaking at the meeting held in his office, Shaukat Iqbal emphasized that the traffic plan will be implemented in letter and spirit from the start of Ramazan. He directed shopkeepers not to place goods or handcarts in front of their shops, warning that encroachments will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

DSP Traffic Anwar Khan Khattak informed the participants that the police department, on the directives of District Police Officer Sajjad Ahmad Sahibzada, has devised a comprehensive strategy to improve traffic flow across the city’s markets during the holy month.

The meeting was attended by Central Anjuman-e-Tajran President Sohail Ahmed Azmi, Senior Vice President Chaudhry Jameel Ahmed, General Secretary Haji Muhammad Ramzan, All Kiryana Association President Haji Ghulam Subhani, Haji Muhammad Nawaz, Farhan Hameed, Central Trader Ittehad President Hamid Ali Rehmani and General Secretary Malik Ashfaq Chughtai, Khalid Naz.

The participants discussed in detail measures to control congestion in the markets and ensure a better shopping environment for citizens during the holy month. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to strict enforcement of the traffic plan to maintain order and facilitate both traders and shoppers throughout Ramazan.
