LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jun, 2026) Members of Bargad’s Local Peace Structures (LPS) organized a community-led Social Action Project titled “Sabeel Sab Ke Liye” near Imambargah Qasr Al Imran in Green Town, here, with the aim of promoting interfaith harmony, social cohesion and collective community action.
The initiative brought together members of the Muslim and Christian communities, who jointly arranged and distributed cold drinks and refreshments for participants attending Muharram gatherings. The activity highlighted the spirit of unity, mutual respect and cooperation among people belonging to different faiths.
As part of the project, community members also distributed saplings under the concept of a “Green Sabeel,” combining faith-based service with environmental responsibility. The initiative sought to encourage simple yet meaningful climate action while fostering a culture of community service.
The activity was led by Local Peace Structures members Fyma Butt, Saira, Abdullah, Rashid Butt, Mubarak Aftab Gill, Riffat, Rafaqat, Sana, Rukhsana, Shahida, Anees Bano, Sonu, Iftikhar, Ch. Abid, Khurram Butt, Kashif and other community volunteers. Incharge Meesaq Center Farhan also participated in the event.
Participants said the initiative reflected strong local ownership and a shared commitment to building peaceful, inclusive and resilient communities. Residents from different backgrounds actively took part in the activity and appreciated the efforts aimed at strengthening social bonds and promoting harmony.

Speaking on the occasion, Program Coordinator at Bargad Rabia Dar said that community-led initiatives demonstrate how ordinary citizens can become ambassadors of peace, inclusion and positive social change. She added that the joint participation of Muslim and Christian communities reflected the values of coexistence and collective responsibility.
Rabia Dar further said that climate-conscious actions such as the distribution of saplings promote environmental stewardship while encouraging citizens to contribute positively to society. She emphasized that community engagement remains essential for building stronger and more resilient communities.
Through initiatives such as “Sabeel Sab Ke Liye,” Bargad continues to support grassroots efforts aimed at strengthening interfaith harmony, social cohesion, active citizenship and community resilience. The organization believes that collective action can play a key role in creating a more peaceful, inclusive and sustainable society.
