Commissioner stresses timely completion of Rawalpindi Master Plan, Commercial market rehabilitation project

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jun, 2026) Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Engineer Aamir Khattak has said that the Rawalpindi Master Plan provides a vital framework for the city's planned growth and sustainable urban development.

Presiding over a meeting to review the progress of the Master Plan Rawalpindi and the rehabilitation of Commercial Market, he stressed the need for coordinated efforts among all relevant departments to address emerging urban challenges, improve civic infrastructure and facilitate better public services for residents.

The commissioner directed officers to ensure that all development activities were carried out in accordance with approved planning standards and timelines.

Highlighting the importance of the Commercial Market rehabilitation project, he said it would help improve the commercial environment and provide better facilities for traders and visitors.

He instructed the concerned departments to maintain high construction standards and ensure minimum inconvenience to the public during execution of the work, reiterating that timely completion of development projects remained a top administrative priority.

During the meeting, the Chief Planner of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) gave a detailed presentation on the progress of the Master Plan Rawalpindi.

An officer of the Municipal Corporation Rawalpindi (MCR) also briefed the meeting on the rehabilitation project from Al-Jannat Mall to Fifth Road in the Commercial Market. The commissioner directed the departments concerned to accelerate the pace of work and ensure completion of the project within the stipulated timeframe.

The meeting was attended by the Additional Director General RDA, Chief Planner RDA, Director Land RDA, Director Engineering RDA, Director Estate Management RDA and other officers of the RDA and MCR.
