Commissioner stresses merit, skill and public service

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Mar, 2026) Divisional Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar underscored the importance of knowledge, professional skills and positive attitude in public service and said that merit and transparency must remain the guiding principles for officers of district administration.

He expressed these views during a meeting with under-training Assistant Commissioners who are currently performing duties alongside district administration during the holy month of Ramadan-ul-Mubarak.

The session provided an opportunity for the young officers to interact with the divisional head and gain insight into administrative functioning.

Divisional Commissioner briefed the under-training officers on key initiatives and governance measures undertaken by the divisional administration to ensure effective service delivery, price control and facilitation of citizens during Ramadan-ul-Mubarak.

He highlighted the significance of coordinated efforts among departments to maintain administrative efficiency and public relief.

He said that knowledge, competence and professional conduct carry immense value in government service. The merit policy must always be upheld and the officers should discharge their responsibilities with integrity and dedication, he added.

He said that office of Assistant Commissioner demands commitment to public service, merit and transparency.

He advised the under-training officers to focus on fieldwork and develop strong command over revenue matters during their training period as practical exposure would enable them to better understand administrative challenges and public expectations.

During interactive session, the under-training officers raised queries regarding the functioning of various departments and Divisional Commissioner responded in detail, guiding them on administrative procedures and best practices.
