Commissioner, RPO review Muharram security arrangements in Attock

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jun, 2026) Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Engineer Aamir Khattak and Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi, Babar Sarfraz Alpa on Wednesday visited Attock district to review security and administrative arrangements for the main 8th Muharram procession.

During the visit, the commissioner and RPO inspected the procession route and reviewed security measures, surveillance arrangements and other administrative preparations.

They also conducted a detailed inspection of health camps, sabeels, sanitation arrangements and municipal services established for mourners.

The two officials reviewed arrangements for the procession and Majalis and met members of the peace committee as well as procession organisers.

Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Aamir Khattak directed officials to ensure foolproof security along the main procession route and at Imambargahs.

He emphasised the need for strict and continuous surveillance until the conclusion of the procession and instructed all relevant departments to remain fully vigilant.

Later, the commissioner and RPO visited the Sikh shrine Gurdwara Sri Panja Sahib in Hassan Abdal to review security arrangements.

Khattak said maintaining law and order during Muharram and ensuring the security of minority places of worship were among the administration's top priorities.

He said comprehensive security measures had been put in place to provide a safe and peaceful environment for members of the Sikh community and other visitors.
