LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) Lahore Divisional Commissioner Marryam Khan chaired an important meeting at the Town Hall with all price control magistrates and officials of the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) to review the Ramazan price control mechanism and administrative measures across the provincial capital.
Addressing the meeting, the commissioner said that the PERA force would focus exclusively on price checking during Ramazan. She directed all Assistant Commissioners, price control magistrates and PERA SDEOs to remain present in markets and bazaars to ensure strict enforcement of officially notified rates. She said there would be no compromise on price and quality violations in Ramazan Sahulat Bazaars as well as open markets, adding that complaints lodged through the Price Control App would be addressed promptly.
The commissioner informed that 31 Sahulat Bazaars had been established in Lahore and were fully operational.
More than 90 price control magistrates would inspect every market and bazaar to ensure implementation of government-notified rates during the holy month.
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Ali Ejaz said that distribution of Ramazan Nigehban Cards was under way through door-to-door visits and designated camps. He said essential commodities were being provided at Sahulat Bazaars at subsidised rates with up to 10 per cent discount. With the support of philanthropists, at least two Dastarkhwans were also being set up in each tehsil.
The DC added that the district administration’s control room was fully functional and citizens could lodge complaints at 0307-0002345, through official social media platforms, or by visiting the office in person. He reiterated that the district administration was making all-out efforts to facilitate the public during Ramazan.
