Commissioner reviews progress of under-construction medical college in Bahawalnagar

BAHAWALNAGAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Feb, 2026) Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Musarrat Jabeen paid a detailed visit to the under-construction medical college in Bahawalnagar to review the pace and quality of ongoing development work.

During the visit, Deputy Commissioner Bahawalnagar Zulfiqar Ahmed Bhon briefed the commissioner on the construction progress, planned facilities, and future expansion components of the medical college project. The briefing covered academic blocks, administrative buildings, lecture halls, laboratories, hostels, and other essential infrastructure being developed to meet modern medical education standards.

Commissioner Musarrat Jabeen conducted a comprehensive inspection of the construction site, carefully examining the quality of work, adherence to timelines, and overall performance of the construction teams. She stressed the importance of maintaining high construction standards while ensuring that the project is completed within the stipulated timeframe.

She directed the authorities concerned to remove any bottlenecks that could delay the project and to ensure continuous monitoring of construction activities. Stressing the strategic importance of the institution, she stated that the medical college would play a vital role in strengthening healthcare education and improving medical facilities in the region.

The commissioner further remarked that upon completion, the institution would provide local students, particularly those from Bahawalpur Division and surrounding districts, with access to high-quality medical education closer to home. This initiative is expected to reduce educational migration to larger cities and contribute to the development of skilled healthcare professionals in South Punjab. She reiterated the administration’s commitment to delivering public welfare projects on time and according to approved quality standards, adding that such educational institutions are key to long-term regional development.
