Commissioner reviews development projects in Gujrat

GUJRAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd May, 2026) Commissioner Muhammad Ali of Gujranwala Division visited Gujrat and reviewed ongoing development schemes, WASA projects and civic facilities.

Deputy Commissioner Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi briefed the meeting on the district profile, development projects and performance of various departments. Senior officers, including additional deputy commissioners, assistant commissioners and officials of WASA and other departments, attended the meeting.

The DC informed that multiple schemes under the Punjab Development Programme were in progress, including a 100-cusec capacity disposal station, installation of HDPE pipelines and sewerage desilting in different zones.

Work on Madina Syedan disposal station and other infrastructure projects was also underway.

The commissioner directed departments to ensure close coordination and timely completion of WASA projects, adding that all “plus projects” should be fast-tracked to facilitate the public. He also ordered regular monitoring of land record centres and better utilisation of education funds for school improvement.

Later, the commissioner, along with the deputy commissioner, visited various development sites, where officials briefed him on progress.
