RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Jul, 2026) Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Salman Ghani, visited Gawalmandi Nullah Lei Bridge to review water flow, drainage and monsoon arrangements in during rainfall.
Officers from WASA, Rawalpindi Waste Management Company, Civil Defence, Rescue 1122, Municipal Corporation and other concerned departments accompanied him during the visit.
Commissioner Rawalpindi Salman Ghani directed all concerned departments to remain on high alert throughout the monsoon season and ensure complete preparedness to handle any emergency situation.
He emphasized that effective drainage arrangements must be made to prevent rainwater accumulation at any location that could disrupt citizens' movement and daily routines.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Commissioner directed WASA to maintain continuous monitoring of Nullah Lei, Gawalmandi and other locations and to keep a close watch on water flow.
All disposal stations, heavy machinery, dewatering sets and other essential equipment must remain operational and available in the field at all times.
Commissioner Rawalpindi stated that all control rooms should remain active 24/7, concerned officers and field staff must be present at their duty points and a prompt response to any complaint or emergency must be ensured.
He further directed that pre-visit and post-visit photographs and situation reports be uploaded on portal in a timely manner to ensure effective monitoring and prompt reporting.
