Commissioner pledges full support for Kabaddi promotion

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Jul, 2026) Commissioner Imran Hamid Sheikh on Tuesday reaffirmed the administration's commitment

to promote Pakistan's traditional sport of Kabaddi and assured full cooperation to the

District Kabaddi Association during a meeting with its office-bearers, who also presented him

a book documenting the game's history.

A delegation of the District Kabaddi Association, headed by its President Shafiq Hussain Shah,

called on the Divisional Commissioner to congratulate him on assuming his new responsibilities.

The delegation comprised Senior Vice Presidents of the association Chaudhry Shabbir Ahmed Sandhu and Chaudhry Yaseen Latif Chhina, along with internationally renowned Kabaddi analyst Muhammad

Tayyab Gilani.

During meeting, Muhammad Tayyab Gilani presented his authored book, Fateh-e-Alam Kabaddi

(Champion of the World Kabaddi), to the commissioner.

Commissioner Imran Hamid Sheikh appreciated the initiative to preserve and document the rich heritage of Kabaddi, describing such efforts as an important contribution to promote the traditional sport among young generations.

He also commended District Kabaddi Association President Shafiq Hussain Shah for his longstanding services and dedication to the development and promotion of Kabaddi in the region.
