Commissioner orders probe into illegal seizure of public property

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Feb, 2026) Local Commissioner ordered an inquiry into the alleged illegal occupation of an important public property in Khanewal district.

According to an official statement, the identity of the property was not disclosed. An inquiry committee headed by the Deputy Commissioner Khanewal has been constituted to investigate the matter and submit its report within a fortnight.

The committee has been directed to fix responsibility on those found involved in the alleged occupation.

The statement said the public property had reportedly remained under the patronage of influential private persons for a brief period in the past. Commissioner Aamir Karim Khan also ordered a ban on the sale or purchase of the property, or any part of it, until completion of the inquiry.

The committee has been instructed to prepare a transparent report after collecting all relevant evidence and testimonies.
