BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Jul, 2026) Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia has directed the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) to promptly resolve public complaints regarding utility bills and provide maximum relief to consumers, emphasizing that addressing citizens' grievances remains one of the Punjab government's highest priorities.
The directions were issued while chairing a meeting at the Commissioner Office to review complaints related to WASA billing and discuss measures to facilitate consumers.
The meeting was attended by Managing Director WASA, along with other relevant officials. Participants reviewed public complaints regarding WASA bills, difficulties faced by consumers in making payments, and various proposals aimed at providing greater relief to customers.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Addressing the meeting, Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia said that the prompt and effective resolution of public issues is a top priority of the Punjab government. He instructed WASA officials to address all billing-related complaints on a priority basis and ensure that consumers receive every possible facilitation and timely redress of their grievances.
To ease the financial burden on consumers, the Commissioner directed that customers who are regularly paying their current monthly WASA bills should be allowed to pay their outstanding arrears in easy installments. He said this measure would enable consumers to clear their pending dues without facing the hardship of making a lump-sum payment.
