Commissioner orders further enhancement of security across Rawalpindi Division

RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Feb, 2026) Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Engineer Aamir Khattak, has directed authorities to further strengthen security measures across the division to ensure public safety.

He issued these instructions while chairing a Divisional Coordination meeting. The Additional Commissioner (Coordination) and officers of relevant departments attended in person, while all Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners joined via video link.

The Commissioner ordered the reactivation of village committees across the division, directing that committees be immediately formed in areas where they do not exist. He said the move would improve local monitoring and ensure timely information sharing.

He made it mandatory for the Rescue, Civil Defence, Police and other relevant departments to conduct joint mock exercises in all districts. Security at Ramazan bazaars will be further enhanced, while complete scanning of bus stands, hotels, hospitals and hostels has been ordered.

Special security audits of educational institutions must be carried out. The Commissioner directed education officers to hold immediate meetings and improve safety arrangements in all institutions.

He also instructed authorities to accelerate the registration drive for motorcycles, rickshaws and other vehicles, mobilising Excise, Traffic Police and other concerned departments.

During the meeting, it was decided that all human resources must remain fully available. The Commissioner ordered 100 percent availability of medicines in government hospitals and warned that strict action would be taken against doctors forcing patients to purchase medicines from outside.

Detailed reports on hospital machinery, staff and available resources have been sought from all districts.

Engineer Aamir Khattak said protection of life and property of citizens remains the top priority and the administration must stay fully prepared to handle any emergency.
