FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jul, 2026) Divisional Commissioner Imran Hamid Sheikh has directed administrative officers to adopt a more proactive, field-oriented approach to governance and said that Punjab government's foremost priority was to establish highest standards of public service through prompt grievance redress, improved municipal services and timely completion of development projects.
Chairing a meeting, he said that in line with the directives of Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz, comprehensive schedules were being prepared for visits to districts and tehsils across the division to ensure direct interaction with citizens and immediate resolution of their issues at the grassroots level.
He stressed that government offices must remain accessible to the public and instructed officers to keep their doors open for complainants.
He said providing timely relief to citizens should become a routine administrative practice instead of subjecting people to unnecessary procedural delays.
He observed that responsive governance and efficient public service delivery were essential for strengthening public confidence in government institutions and directed all departments to adopt a citizen-centric approach in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He instructed the Director Development to ensure timely completion of all ongoing public welfare projects while maintaining complete transparency in planning and execution.
He said that any administrative bottlenecks affecting project implementation should be reported immediately so that corrective measures could be taken without delay.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>He assigned the Chief Officer of Municipal Corporation the task of ensuring uninterrupted civic services throughout the division.
He directed that all streetlights should remain fully functional, roads and inner streets be repaired and rehabilitated on priority and municipal services continue without disruption.
He said that quality of public services should not merely meet but exceed citizens' expectations, adding that efficient civic management was a key indicator of good governance.
He also directed the Revenue Department to consistently achieve recovery targets under various heads and asked officers to remain actively engaged in the field to ensure effective implementation of government initiatives and prompt public facilitation.
Calling for great teamwork and institutional coordination, the divisional commissioner said that collective objective was to transform Faisalabad into the province's best-performing division in terms of governance, development and public service delivery.
There should be no relaxation in efforts to achieve that goal, he added.
Additional Commissioner Coordination Tanveer Murtaza, Director Development Asif Iqbal Chauhan, Additional Commissioner Consolidation Afzal Tarrar, Chief Officer Municipal Corporation Usman Ghani, Assistant Commissioner General Atiya Inayat and others were present in the meeting.
